Sweets should focus on by-products: Ajit Pawar

Beed, April 8 (UNI) Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Ajit Pawar said on Friday that sugar mills should focus on producing ethanol with sugar cane sugar. Moreover, factories should focus on by-products, without which there is no way out, he added. He was speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the distillery of Yedeshwari Sugar Factory in Anandgaon (Sa.) in Kauj taluka district with an increased capacity of 60 kg per day. The Minister of Water Resources and Development of Beneficiary Areas, Jayant Patil, chaired the program. Social Justice and Special Assistance Minister and Guardians Minister Dhananjay Munde, MP Prakash Solanke, MP Sandeep Kshirsagar, MP Sanjay Daund, Chairman of Sugar Factory Yedeshwari Bajrang Sonwane among others were present on the platform. Sant Bhagwan Baba hostels are opened in 41 places for children of sugarcane workers in 10 districts, including Beed. The hostel will provide accommodation, meals and education for students, Pawar said. Pawar said the factories should not be closed until all the sugar cane in the region has been crushed. The government will help with transportation subsidies and recovery losses. Instructions have been given to arrange the harvester in the area where the cane is to be harvested. Sugarcane growers must also cultivate sugarcane depending on the availability of water. There will be no shortage of funds for the development of the Beed district, he promised. The government has taken steps to provide incentive financial assistance to farmers who repay their loans up to Rs. 2 lakhs and zero rate agricultural loans.
