Sugar Express Santa Trains brings holiday cheer to thousands of Florida kids – WFTV

ORLANDO, Florida – The Sugar Express Santa Train on Saturday brought the joy of the holiday season to local families in parts of Florida.

Santa traveled to Belle Glade, Clewiston, Moore Haven and Lake Placid on the Sugar Express, powered by the historic No.148 Steam Engine, to deliver toys to children in need.

US Sugar has partnered with the United States Marine Corps and Toys for Tots to bring more than 2,000 toys to children across South Florida’s agricultural region.

“This is our second year of operating the Santa Express, and we couldn’t be happier to deliver these freebies to our friends and neighbors,” said Scott Ogle, operations manager of Sugar Express. “What a joy it was to see the smiles on the faces of so many local children and their parents. “

At each station, hundreds of children were able to meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus.

The children were also able to leave letters to Santa Claus to take them back to the North Pole.
