‘Spoonful Of Sugar’ Acquired By Shudder From AMC Networks – Deadline

Shudder, the horror streaming service, has announced that it has acquired the psychological horror film spoonful of sugar ahead of its Fantastic Fest premiere. The film will premiere on the streaming platform in 2023 in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.

“With spoonful of sugar, Mercedes Bryce Morgan delivers incisive psychological horror intertwined with nightmarish visions of hallucinogenic beauty. We can’t wait for Shudder members to make the trip,” said Craig Engler, Chief Executive Officer of Shudder.

spoonful of sugar is Morgan’s second feature film. The film is written by Leah Saint Marie (Honor Award) and stars Morgan Saylor (Country), Kat Foster (Gas lighting), Myko Olivier (United States of Al), Danilo Crovetti and David Yow (I don’t feel at home in this world anymore). The film is produced by Vanishing Angle’s (Werewolves inside) Matt Miller and Natalie Metzger with Katrina Kudlick (ladyworld).

Morgan said he was “honored to be able to present” spoonful of sugar on AMC Networks’ Shudder and “I can’t wait for audiences around the world to immerse themselves in the trippy psyches of our characters.”

The deal was brokered by Vanishing Angle on behalf of the filmmakers and Emily Gotto, VP, Global Acquisitions & Co-Productions on behalf of Shudder.
