Dutch Bros will open its first location in Missouri City in the second quarter of 2022, according to a press release from NewQuest Properties. The Oregon-based drive-thru chain has purchased the last remaining site at Fort Bend Town Center 1, a 27-acre property owned by NewQuest Properties with 180,000 square feet, including a 102,000 square foot Kroger Signature flagship store. Dutch Bros will break ground on the 1.23 acre site before mid-March, building its prototype – an 863 square foot kiosk with two drive-thru lanes. The coffee brand has more than 470 company-owned locations in 11 states.

Cajun seafood restaurant Happy Crab has officially opened at 5418 Hwy. 6, Ste. 210 Missouri City. The restaurant held a soft opening on Sunday, February 20, and through Monday, February 28, it will be offering 15% off its entire menu, which includes traditional Cajun seafood dishes such as crawfish, shrimp and crab, as well as other seafood, including catfish. , tilapia, oysters and more. Happy Crab will hold its official inauguration on Tuesday March 1st. 832-539-1619.

Johnny Tamale Cantina will expand to Sugar Land in the spring. Johnny Tamale Cantina is a family-run Tex-Mex canteen that has had a location in Pasadena since 1998. The restaurant serves traditional Tex-Mex dishes including tacos, enchiladas, nachos and more. The address of the new location is not yet available.

Red Circle Ice Cream opened a new location February 19 at 3595 Hwy. 6 Sugarland. Red Circle Ice Cream offers premium artisanal ice cream, accompanied by made-to-order churros and authentic Hong Kong-style egg waffles. It also offers very large macaroons filled with ice cream. It is also home to The Churro Daddy and The Churro Puff. This will be the brand’s second franchise, bringing the total number of locations to three. The brand of cold-pressed juices and plant-based treats Pressed has opened a new address in Sugar Land. The store opened at 15850 Southwest Freeway, Ste. 200, Sugar Land, on Jan. 22, offering a wide range of products, including cold-pressed juices, functional shots, on-the-go smoothies, high-protein smoothie bowls and plant-based soft drinks, according to a Feb. 7 ad.

The third largest pizza chain in the United States, Little Caesars, will soon open a new location in Sugar Land. Located at the corner of West Bellfort Avenue and the highway. 6 at Woodridge Crossing, 10581 Hwy. 6 S., Sugar Land, Little Caesars will open at the Woodridge Crossing Mall next to Zen Hair Nails & Spa and Pho Nguyen, although an exact opening date has yet to be released. The pizza chain opened in 1959 in Garden City, Michigan, with its first franchise opening in Warren, Michigan, according to the Little Caesars website. The chain now operates thousands of stores in all 50 states and 27 countries and territories.

A new restaurant serving Indian and Pakistani cuisine in an upscale setting is now open in Sugar Land. Elite Indo-Pak at 11941 Hwy. 6 S., Sugar Land, held its grand opening Feb. 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by city officials from the cities of Sugar Land and Missouri City, according to social media posts from the restaurant’s Facebook page. The restaurant serves a variety of Indo-Pakistani dishes including samosas, chicken and goat curries, biryani, masala and more. The opening comes from the same owners as Imperial Spice, an Indo-Pak grocery store that opened February 1 in the same Imperial Square development. 281-957-4100.

Dave’s Hot Chicken has opened a location at 6324 S. Hwy. 6, Missouri City in mid-January where the Bernie’s Burger Bus once stood. The franchise offers chicken tenders and sandwiches at several heat levels, including no spice, light, mild, medium, hot, extra hot and reaper, as well as macaroni and cheese, fries and kale salad . 832-987-4799.
