KZN police investigate murder cases after two bodies found in sugarcane field
KwaZulu-Natal Police are investigating two murder cases after two bodies were found in a sugarcane field in Verulam, north of Durban.
It is alleged that the two men were driving from Inanda towards Verulam when unknown suspects in a vehicle passed them and opened fire.
According to the police, the vehicle veered off the road into the sugar cane field.
“A vehicle was found in the sugarcane field with bullet holes inside the sugarcane fields. Police found two bodies of men believed to be in their twenties with multiple gunshot wounds on the body. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene. The circumstances surrounding the incident are under investigation,” police spokesman Nqobile Gwala said.
Meanwhile, the family of the late ANC branch secretary in Ward 82 in Umlazi, south of Durban, believe his murder is politically motivated.
Thulani Shusha was shot dead last night near his home in the evening at W. Section in Umlazi.
Shusha was shot while returning from a branch meeting.
The late Themba Mkhize’s uncle says they are devastated.
“I am devastated by Thulani’s death as he loved the ANC so much he sometimes couldn’t attend family gatherings. It is painful today that he is no more. But he loved the ANC.
