Fort Bend ISD wins TASBO Award of Merit

SUGAR LAND, TX – Fort Bend ISD was honored last week for its adherence to best practices in the procurement of goods and services.

The school district serving Sugar Land, Missouri City and surrounding areas received the Texas Association of School Business Officials Merit Award for demonstrating responsible and efficient use of public funds.

TASBO honored 19 organizations in the Houston area, including 18 school districts. The award is given for adherence to professional standards in the acquisition of goods and services. In 2022, 53 organizations won the award, including school districts, open enrollment charter schools, and educational service centers. The prize has been awarded annually since 2009.

Each year, TASBO officials review the award criteria to ensure they are in line with current best practices and review new and recertification applications from organizations statewide.
