BB Italia will build a new house in Sugar Land Town Square

Berg Hospitality Group’s Italian restaurant concept is set to open in the spring at Sugar Land’s 32-acre Town Square, 16250 City Walk, joining the development’s restaurant collection that includes State Fare Kitchen & Bar, Sweet Paris Creperie , The Rouxpour, Perry’s Steakhouse & Grille, Mahesh’s Kitchen, Escalante’s and Fish City Grill.

The original BB Italia opened in 2019 in Carmelo’s longtime former space at 14795 Memorial (now home to But). When it closed, Berg announced that he would be moving to the neighborhood. The plan never took place. Instead, Berg recently announced the restaurant is moving to Sugar Land, to a 6,770 square foot space with a patio.

“We are thrilled to be part of the transformation of Sugar Land Town Square, which is quickly becoming a destination for eclectic dining offerings in the Houston area,” Berg said. “This bustling mixed-use development is a perfect fit for us, offering great walkability, retail, entertainment and events that add to the experience and ambience our guests seek before or after a meal.”

Berg was apparently determined not to lose the brand from his portfolio (B&B Butchers & Restaurant, BB Lemon, The Annie Café & Bar, Turner’s and NoPo Café (although he recently launched another Italian concept, Trattoria Sofia in the heights.

Expect a menu very similar to the original, with homemade pastas, New York-style pizzas, and classic Italian dishes such as chicken parmigiana and lasagna.
